Great sushi and cheap lunch prices. Just a bit small inside.
I went up there and I ordered food .. I have to wait 1 hour and the food is not hot as it should be .. my experience is really bad with this place .. and the customer service is also so bad .. nobody’s cares about you ... 😭
Value for money inexistent. ..
The food here is way too expensive for the quantity and quality given. I got a bibimnaengmyun ($14) with a red dragon roll ($13) and my friend got a sashimi bento box ($20). First, the naengmyun had garnishes that were less that satisfactory. One piece of dry beef, three small chunks of radish, some cucumbers, and the sauce tasted stale. The noodles were stuck together and hard to mix with the sauce. The red dragon roll was small (as small as a normal california roll) and the filling was worse than a 6 dollar california roll from other restuarants. Finally, the sashimi bento box used old fish, the tempura was cooked with old oil, and the gyoza was stale as well. There was very poor customer service as well. Also, the workers were on their phones the entire time, calling people on speaker phone. There are so many other amazing sushi places in Kingston. Don't waste your time, money, and taste buds on this one. I'd checkout sushibar da instead.
Fantastic service, and expert chefs! The food presentation is lovely, and it’s deliciously fresh.
Great place for sushi. I was sad at first to see my favorite rolls were a bit pricey so I ended up ordering one of their combos instead. It was wonderful, from the quality to the quantity to the decor as well. It even came with miso soup! The place is really small but the music and wall decorations are nice. Definitely recommend. Oh yeah, staff were very friendly as well!
The person does not respect his clients. He is so egoistic.
They don’t know how to treat people... worse experience ever 👎👎👎👎
We ordered for the first time since moving to Kingston. Over the phone they were very pleasant. Picked up order only to find out when we got home that a roll was missing. When called they said we would have to drive all the way back downtown to get it or get a refund in person only. Therefore one child didn’t get their dinner order. At first glance the rolls looked well made except for the avocado which was old and very brown and spotted even before opening the clear lid. Was not worth the $71 we spent.
The environment is amazing, the restaurant is clean, the service is fast, friendly, and kind. Took my girlfriend here on a whim, and it was some of the best Sushi I've ever had, the prices were awesome, and as we were finishing up the chef sent us two new pieces of sushi on the house for us to try that he'd been experimenting with, and free melon and fresh raspberries for dessert.
Dynamite rolls are good. Pricier than some other places near campus. Overall great!
great place and very good sushi.
The worst sushi I had in a long time. The quality is bad. Ordered through just eat. It was $15 myself so I was expecting it to be at least ok. But yes I wouldn't even pay $5 for this supermarket quality sushi. I can get it from metro. I don't know how people give it 5 stars.
Very delicious. The place r nice
Ordered galbi dinner (18.99) for takeout. Quantity of galbi was subpar compared to other places (6 small pieces). I called in and appearntly this is a normal serving size. I would imagine this would translate to other dishes. Stay clear of this place, so many other choices downtown.
The fish wasn't as fresh as some other places downtown.
The best sushi in Kingston. Having been to numerous sushi restaurants in the Kingston, Toronto, Oakville and Burlington area, I can safely say Izumo is the best in Kingston. Its not cheap, but if you are in the mood for very good sushi, Izumo has never let me down.
This sushi is pretty bomb! It's run by really nice people, too.
overpriced and poor quality. I had the Deluxe Maki and I found the rolls didnt taste very good especially for 21 dollars for three of them
My favorite fish focused sushi. Quality has been high and prices fair through changes in ownership.
Great prices, great service, AMAZING SUSHI. By far the best sushi in Kingston!
Sushi was pretty good. And the service was great .
I was very disappointed, and don't understand why it is so overrated. The fish (especially tuna) seemed very cheap, and the sashimies were as thin as the ones that goes on nigiries. The server wasn't attentive. We ordered a sashimi starter, a sushi delux, and an order of takoyaki. There were 5 pieces of salmon, two piecs of snapper, a piece of tuna, and one piece of yellow tail in sashimi starter. The sushi delux was supposed to have 18 pieces of "assorted" sushi, but half of them were salmon. The rice portion was big, the sizes of fishes were irregular, and again I don't understand.. why too much salmon? The delux had only 4 different kinds of fishes. The fishes were room temperature, as well. Not visiting this place ever, EVER again.
I’m not a big fan of the raw fish, but this place is definitely perfect for me because they have a lot of options. The price is very convenient and the service is just good enough for a person who complain all the time like me. LolI definitely recommend this place 200% Fresh sushi or anything else at a low cost
Very disappointed. Order a plate i said i have 3 children 3 /4 of the plate my kids couldnt eat it , too spicy ... 3/4 of the plates its raw fish ...
Excellent food with great service! The prices are fair and the setting is a small, yet well decorated japanese-style restaurant with a quality music choice. We ordered the small sushi box and we were very satisfied with the quality of the sushi and sashimi.
All you can eat sushi! Great service people are eager to serve you.
Absolutely fantastic food, every time. Always excellent service, more than fair prices, and very nice owners! I stumbled upon this smaller restaurant in my quest for decent sushi and haven't looked back. Once a friend and I went twice in one week and the chef sent us a free roll that we had never tried before - it was beyond delicious!
As everyone else said this is the best sushi I've found in Kingston. A small place, so call ahead, especially if you're a big group. But fantastic food, atmosphere and staff, and not too expensive.
The BEST SUSHI place! Made by real Japanese. Place was home-ish and small but service was great! My family and I keep eating at Izumo.
Excellent food and excellent service! As a vegetarian, I had quite a few options, and loved the yam/avocado roll. Very happy to find such a good sushi place on a short trip to Kingston
Worst place in Kingston to eat food. Unprofessional and disrespectful staff.
I often get hair from their food.
This is the perfect example of a restaurant giving up what gave them a competitive advantage for increased margins. I first discovered this small, quaint spot in early 2015. It quickly became one of our favourite date spots with wonderful sushi platters made in a family-environment. Unfortunately, over the past few years the quality of the fish has decreased significantly, in addition to terrible service. Izumo used to have some of the best quality sushi in all of Kingston, but it has settled for mediocrity over time.
This place is AWESOME! The food is a good size and the decor is amazing :D i asked for the tempura udon and they brought out this tiny plate of tempura and a tiny bowl of noodles and i was thinking is this it? But then they brought out the BIG BOWL that was actually the rest of my food lol! A very good and tasty surprize! 5/5 will visit again!!
Always so nicely treated. And the food is fantastic. Thank you!!!
I ordered 7. Fusion Salmon Sushi Wrap Roll (8 pcs) through skip the dishes and instead of having 8, I only got 5 and obviously I dont have time to go to the restaurant and ask wheres the other 3.
Great sushi at great prices, easy ordering via Just-Eat.ca
We had bulgogi dinner. The food was fine, but the price does not match the quality and the quantity of the food (total came to 20 cad per person with tax and tips). The food portions were really small, and we have to get something else to eat after since none of us were full. There are way better sushi/Korean places in downtown having better food and prices. Very disappointing experience and will not come again.
The best sushi & friendliest staff in town!
I’ve been going to Izumo for a couple years and sadly the food quality went down. The fish used in rolls is old and sashimi is mediocre. It used to be one of my favourite sushi restaurants in Kingston.
Great sushi!
